Debugging Is Just Reading Carefully, Faster

Rubber ducks, binary search, and the courage to read the log first.

My loop

  1. Reproduce reliably.
  2. Halve the search space.
  3. Read the actual error, not the one you expect.
  4. Fix, then write the test you wish existed.

Personal note

The best debugger I own is patience plus `git bisect`. The worst is assuming I know where the bug is.

I spent two hours debugging this site's CSS once. The bug was a missing semicolon. I am not proud.
